Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue, Inc. (TOTTSHR) was established to provide for the rescue and care of Siberian Huskies and Siberian Husky Mixes who have been abandoned or turned into animal shelters, or who have been referred to us by their owners who can no longer keep them for any number of reasons.

TOTTSHR, Inc. is entirely staffed by volunteers who love dogs, and share a particular fondness for the Siberian Husky. We always welcome new volunteers into our group, and are delighted that you are interested in helping out with our efforts.

Please take the time to complete this form. After reviewing the information you provide, one of our representatives will contact you regarding your time availability and the volunteer activities for which you have expressed an interest.

If you are interested in becoming a foster home, there are specific questions on this form which must be completed. Upon approval to be a foster home a separate contract must be signed.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of our group!

If you have any questions regarding volunteering, please email volunteer@tottshr.org.

Fostering: Additional Questions for Foster Applicants Only

Please complete this section if you are interested in becoming a foster home. This would include all foster home types: temporary, short term, surgical, behavioral, and continual. If you are not interested in becoming a foster home please skip to the next section.

    Type of Fostering

Please indicate which types of fostering you are interested in. Check all that apply.

    • Approx. 1-3 days, these foster homes would be needed in cases where there is a timing issue associated with transport or for a scheduled adoption.

    • Approx. 1-2 weeks, these foster homes would be needed in cases of vacations by other foster homes, some timing issues.

    • Approx. 2-4 weeks (may be longer depending upon the surgery), these foster homes would be needed in the cases of surgery recoveries, recovering from spay/neuter. Please note that if you have other pets, you may need to have the facilities to keep the foster dog separate during the recovery time.

    • Approx. 1-4 months (time may vary depending on the severity of the case), these foster homes would be needed in the cases where behavior modification is needed in order to make the dog adoptable. The organizations behavioral/evaluation committee will work closely with these foster homes. Please note that if you have other pets, you may need to have the facilities to keep the foster dog separate during the recovery time. TOTTSHR will work to make the dogs in our care adoptable, but it is understood that there are some cases which we are unable to help. In such cases TOTTSHR's approved policy will be consulted.

    • These foster homes are willing to foster a dog until such time as the dog is adopted. The time may vary anywhere from 1 day to 6 months. The foster home will then have the opportunity to foster another dog once the original dog has been adopted.
